Dr. Jeannette Marion Obney - Frost

29 December, 194616 October, 2020

Jeannette Marion Obney died peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded as she was in life by the love of her six children and her husband of 48 years, Dr. Peter Frost.

She will be remembered by many for her long career as a physician, known for her kindness, commitment and her genuine empathy for her patients.

Jeannette’s true vocation, however, was as an extraordinary mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed by her children: Michael (Melissa), Alison (Lance), Heather (Peter), Christopher (Jessica), Ashley (Travis) and James (Melissa). To the grandchildren who knew her affectionately as Gaga, she is irreplaceable. But in all of them--Cassandra, Hayden, Thea, Gabriel, Gillian, Robert, Nicholas, Mia and Everett—she lives on.

Welcome to Paradise, Gaga. Rest in peace and please leave the door open for the rest of us.

Dear Dr Frost I was shocked and saddened today to here of Jeanette’s passing. I had been a patient of hers for many years. I never visited her without her proudly talking about her children’s accomplishments and of course her Grandchildren. She was wonderful and warm. I always thought to myself Jeanette had everything and she deserved it. I will miss my visits with her. So very sorry for you loss. All the best for you and your family. Edward

Dear Dr Frost and family

I was very shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Dr Obney’s passing. I was very fortunate to have her as my family physician in Brooklin for many years, she was so lovely, kind and caring and I missed her terribly when she moved on to specialise in Dermatology. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

Dear Frost family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Obney. I remember her smile, her laughter (often following one of Dr Frost’s jokes), and how welcoming and accepting she was. I think of all the times you invited me to join you at Christmas and other holidays, with all of you together in the family room, around the dining table, or at the cottage, with so much love and happiness. All of you are in my thoughts and I offer you my deepest condolences.

I am so very saddened & sorry to hear of the passing of Dr.Obney. She was my dermatologist for over 15 years, I saw her every 3 mths as she took care of many skin cancer issues I had. My entire family (my late father, my mother, sister, & 2 nephews) were also her patients. She was a wonderful doctor, very friendly & personable. We send our deepest condolences to Dr.Frost & family. She will be greatly missed. RIP Dr.Obney & thank you for all you did for us. XO
Love Franca Mazzone, & the Mazzone family (Gina, Madeline, Joseph & Jaden)

To Dr. Frost and Family;

I was shocked to learn of your sudden loss of Dr. Jeanette!
My heartfelt condolences go out to all of you now.

I was her patient for a very long time at Lynde as well as all of my immediate family.

Going to see her was such a pleasurable visit as she always took the time to see what was going on in our lives and get updates during the appts as I questioned her about next trip and which kids and grandchildren she would be seeing.
I can’t recall an appt where we didn’t chat about all of it as she shared her joy of her family with smiles and her cool sense of style with very fashionable tights and shoes.

It definitely wasn’t the same going in today for my cancelled appt from March due to Covid and her not being there.

Her warmth and smile along with her knowledge will be missed by many.

Dear Peter and Family,
Paul and I were shocked and saddened to read of the death of your beautiful wife, Jeannette. While we had not seen each other for many years, we always remember a jolly Xmas party in your Oshawa house and lovely chats with Jeannette when we would occasionally meet at a medical function. She was really an amazing and inspirational person and so loved by her patients and family and she will be missed terribly. May you all be comforted by your wonderful memories of your life together and the love you shared so abundantly. With deep sympathy, Monica and Paul Hoy
