Oh Yes, That Was Jeff
Funny - are you kidding! Goofy - absolutely. Hard-working - always. Sarcastic - at every opportunity. Quick-witted - in a split second. Generous - to a fault. Wise - like Confusius. Handsome - well, duh. Athletic - all star. A good cook - have you had his spaghetti sauce?! Quiet - until he wasn’t. Insightful - personally astute. Giving - in a quiet manner. Strong - mentally and physically. A trusted friend - mi amico. A CU Buffalo and Denver Bronco fan - die hard!
La famiglia. A Colorado native, Jeff was born in Denver, the oldest of five children - sisters, Susan, Katherine, Deborah; brothers Michael and Bradon. His father, Angelo, first USA born of parents from Italy, and mother, Helen, from Irish immigrants. Jeff spent some of his younger years in Pueblo, graduated from Thornton High School, and was married to Georgia for 50 years. Together they raised two daughters, Shawna and Terra, and enjoyed four grandchildren, Caeden, Tristen, Jaxson and Torrey. He has many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Vivere la vita. After attending junior college, Jeff served in the Air Force during the VietNam War and was honorably discharged. After marrying Georgia, family outings included camping and fishing. One of his favorite locations was Red Feather Lakes. Jeff loved hitting the sticks on the golf course any chance he got. He often played in the annual Roadway Express benefit tournament for the Denver Children’s Hospital with his daughter, Shawna, as part of his team’s foursome. He loved music - classic rock such as the Doobie Brothers and Creedence Clearwater Revival, and reggae favorite Bob Marley - a concert he and his daughter, Terra, attended together. He and Georgia participated in a bowling league for years and always relished the opportunity to reunite with high school friends at high school reunions. Jeff enjoyed getting together with buddies to play cards, working in his yard, shooting hoops with his grandkids, and cheering for his grandkids with their multiple and various sporting activities and academic achievements.
Carriera professionale. Jeff’s professional career was primarily spent in the trucking and shipping industry spending many years at UPS and retiring from Roadway Express. With Roadway Express, Jeff was recognized with a safety award for implementing safe working practices. He preferred physical work and always displayed a strong work ethic.
Prossima vita. Jeff will be joining his wife, Georgia, who passed last summer. Also reuniting with his parents Helen and Angelo, and his sister, Katherine. Most likely he will be playing golf, meeting up with friends, listening to music, and cheering for his grandkids.
Ricordare. Jeff will be remembered in many ways by many who knew him, loved him, enjoyed his friendship. He will be missed.
“We sing his song of life in our memories.
We play the tune of his humor in our smiles.
We hold the harmony of his givings in our hearts.”
