It is with great sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Master Corporal Roman Clarke Joseph on October 11, 2018 – he was 50 years young. Roman descends from the Joseph / Trimble & Carpenter / Mason families who derive from Squamish, Nisga’a, Heiltsuk and Kitasoo Nations. Roman was born to his parents Late Ronald Elwin Wilbur Joseph and Marilyn ‘Lynn’ Edith nee: Carpenter in Vancouver, BC on August 25, 1968. He grew up in East Vancouver and attended Lord Nelson Elementary and Templeton Secondary School. At a young age Roman entered into the Seaforth Cadets and upon graduation he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Master Corporal Roman Clark Joseph proudly served in both Bosnia and Afghanistan. Roman can best be remembered for the loving care he provided to family (especially his mom), for being the ‘best uncle’ and always taking care of every task, large or small, for family, relatives and friends.
Roman is survived by and will be dearly missed by his mother Marilyn ‘Lynn’ Mura (nee: Carpenter); siblings Ron (Michelle), Dawnda (Brian), Rhonda, Richard III (Michele), Mercy (Todd); nieces & nephews Jacob, Amanda, Richard IV, Nico, Liz (Iswalh), Seth, Matthew, Dylan, Savanna, Brendan, Tristen, Quentin; grand nieces & nephews Ambrose, Kayden, Se’isiye, Wiwqtiye, Swocentet, Noah, Mulisha, and Octavia; aunts & Uncles Vernon, Dee (Ernie ‘Iggy’), Caroline (Peter), Barbara, Byron (Brenda), Robert, Emma (Tony), Shirley, Elizabeth & Judy. A prayer service will be held on Tuesday October 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm and a military funeral service on Wednesday October 17, 2018 at 10:00 am; both at Chief Joe Mathias Centre, 100 Capilano Road, North Vancouver, BC.
