Emma Lee Barnes

Emma also known as Angel to her friends and family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved to cook for her family holiday get togethers and crawfish boils. To many she was known as a Firecracker. Emma enjoyed reading, fishing, and dancing. Emma was also a longtime member of the VFW and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her son, Karl Wayne Cheney, daughter, Sherry Monique Wilcox, parents, Royce and Emma Preston, and two sisters, Ruby Ingle, Katherine Ashworth.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, James H Barnes of Starks; son, Keith "Beau" Cheney and wife, Kerri of Sulphur; Todd Barnes and wife, Stacy of Beaumont, Texas; daughter, Lisa Kilroy and husband, Mike of California; daughter, Jana Maldonado of Corpus Christi, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Joshua Cheney and wife, Meagan, Brayden Cheney, Hunter Rabalais, Alayna Rabalais, Lillian Rabalais, Ashlyn Barnes, Michael Cheney and wife, Melissa, Alan Cheney and wife, Kristen, Lauren Kilroy, Alyssa Kilroy, Matthew Wilcox, Brandon Wilcox, Caitlyn Hill and husband, Jaxon, Steven Maldonado; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Darlene Anderson of Virginia and Debbie Dunn of Baytown, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and so many loving friends.

Emma's wishes were to be cremated and she will be laid to rest at a later date.
