Celus Ferebee Weeks

Celus F Weeks, born May 24,1923 the last surviving child of John Perry Weeks and Jesse Jennings Weeks died October 23rd. Connie, his wife of nearly 58 years died in February of this year. Left to cherish their memory are three sons Skip, Don and his wife Karla, Gary and his wife Cheryl and grandchildren Kristen, Aaron, Andrew, Jacob, James, Emily, Callie and Grace. Tina Mather is a beloved former daughter-in-law.

Celus provided for his family by working as a carpenter and starting a family business, which he later left to his sons. He served in the U.S.C.G. as a merchant marine during WW II. He enjoyed table tennis, jet skiing, snow skiing, and skydived at ages 78 and 80. Celus was the devoted caretaker of both the Jennings and Weeks Family Cemeteries located in Elizabeth City, NC.

A casual gathering to greet family and friends will be held Friday (Oct 29) from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. A celebration service will be held on Saturday (Oct 30) at 1pm. Both will be at St Timothy Lutheran Church, 1051 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk. Burial will be at Rosewood immediately after the service, followed by a meal at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St Timothy Lutheran Church.
