Edward Williams, 75, of Maryland, beloved husband of Delores Williams, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at home. Edward was born in Andalusia, AL on March 31, 1941, son of the late Henry and Estelle (Sears) Williams. He moved to Hartford, CT, where he lived and worked for many years, holding a variety of jobs until he retired from Travelers Insurance Company. Edward had a great passion for the outdoors. He loved photography, hunting, fishing, gardening, and cooking for others.
He leaves to mourn his passing: his wife, Delores Lamar Williams, three daughters-Gwen Williams of Bloomfield, CT, Michelle Williams-Mitchell of Bloomfield, CT, and Monica Compton of Charlotte, NC. A stepson, Rodney Lamar, and his wife, Dawn Lamar, of Maryland; a sister, Kathy Rudolph of Alabama; eight grandchildren, Brandon Andrade, Byron Bibbins, Ahmadjah Compton, Dache Williams, Mikel Mitchell, Genesis Jon, Asia D. Lamar, and Gabriel D. Lamar, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Edward was predeceased by two brothers, James and Glen Williams, and two sisters, Esther Cole and Betty J. Carter.
In recent years, Eddies' one wish was to return to his beloved Alabama. He wanted to buy a farm and pass his final years raising chickens and cows. Although Eddie's health precluded him from this venture, he never gave up hope. As we think of Eddie today, let us envision him in the light of our Creator, one with the glory of God's love, walking through the green pastures of the Andalusia fields, his spirit breathing gracefully through paradise.
