My condolences to your family.
I only became friends with Roger in his later years when I moved to the neighborhood. He was quick to share some help or playfully tease me about something. We both had a soft spot for our cat friends and as things started to get difficult for him I started helping care for his feline roommates. Our friendship grew from there. I liked to refer to him as a grumpy old fart with a real soft spot. I was amazed by the way his mind worked and how he could picture and build things intricate and detailed.
I will miss him. We will happily make a contribution to a cat rescue in his honor. This was something of importance to him and Jean.
