Cecilia "Gina" Scorpiniti, 86, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2021. On Friday, December 3, 2021, a visitation will be held at 10:00 AM at St. Augustin Catholic Church, followed by a Mass at 11:00 AM. Entombment at the Resthaven Cemetery Mausoleum will follow the service.
Gina was born on July 29, 1935 to Michele and Anastasia (Fortino) Scalioti in Cariati, Italy. She met the love of her life, Clement, in Cariati, and they were married in the Cathedral of Cariati on July 26, 1962.
Gina was a devoted Catholic and was a long time member of St. Augustin Catholic Church. Gina was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved teaching the grandchildren Italian, enjoyed cooking all those wonderful Italian dishes and also loved being surrounded by her family.
Gina is survived by her son, Lenny Scorpiniti and daughter, Madeline "Bobbi" (Rodney) Roshek; grandchildren, Ellen and Gina Scorpiniti, and Rachel and Anna Roshek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement, her parents, three brothers and one sister.
