Born on July 26, 1931 in Lampman, SK, she was the eldest daughter to Emil and Eda Wolgam. Edna grew up on the family farm near Woodley, SK. and went on to work as a cook at Luther College in Regina. She and Gordon met at a dance at the Trianon Ballroom and it was the beginning of a loving and fulfilling relationship. They married on October 7, 1954 and moved to Weyburn where together they built a beautiful life raising their four children. Edna was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed singing, cooking, gardening, crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren share many cherished memories with their Granny; she always made them feel loved. Edna is fondly remembered for her kindness and compassion. She had a wonderful sense of humour and always greeted people with a warm smile. Many friends and family speak of enjoying time with Edna and Gordon at Zion Lutheran Church and the Legion in Weyburn where they dedicated much of their time.
Edna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Gordon; brother, Mervin Wolgam (Kay); sons, Steven (Tamra), Wayne (Glenda) and Glen; daughter, Judy (Rick); grandchildren, Tyler (Heather), Ashley (Fabian). Joshua (Becky), Miranda (Ben), Rebecca (Jeremy), Brittney (Brant) and Selina. Edna spent her final years living at the William Albert House in Emerald Park surrounded by love, laughter and music.
A Celebration of Edna’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Pastor Victoria Mwamasika officiating. Lunch and Fellowship to follow the service. Interment will take place in Regina Memorial Gardens, Regina, Saskatchewan.
