Bruce was born on May 3, 1947, to parents Richard and Beatrice Sedgely Clark. He was the third of 4 boys, David, Ronald, Bruce and Douglas. He grew up in Holbrook, MA, and graduated from Southeastern Vocational School when it was in Brockton, MA. Bruce was president of his class and specialized in metal fabrication and welding. He became a certified x-ray welder, excellent at his craft.
Bruce joined the Navy SeeBees during the Vietnam conflict. He served from 1968 until 1972. His family moved to West Bridgewater in 1970. When home on leave, he met the girl next door. She became the love of his life. He married Nedra Bates Clark in 1974. They would have been married 50 years this June 21st. He is survived by his wife Nedra, his son, Bradford L. Clark, Brad’s wife Kristin and their kids Mekenna and Micah.
Above all, Bruce was a lover of Jesus. He served as a deacon and a trustee in several churches over the years. At the time of his passing, he was a member of Relate Community Church in Brockton where his son is part of the pastoral staff.
Besides his family, he enjoyed many things like dogs, donuts, the Cafe Deli, antiquing, yard sales and classic cars, especially Cadillacs. He was the hardest worker you would have ever known. He would pick up leaves and sticks, one by one, if they fell on his pristine lawn. When relaxing, he loved to watch TV and old horror movies. We will miss his stories, his sense of humor and his kind heart.
Bruce died at home in the care of Nedra, Brad and hospice. It was a long, hard road as he suffered from Parkinson's and an aortic stenosis, but the promise of heaven was always on his mind. As he passed, no truer words were spoken from his Savior, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.”
