Richard C. Brendlen, Sr. 70, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at Raritan Bay Medical Center after a long illness. Richard was born in Jersey City, NJ and raised in Union City. He served in the United States Army 9th Infantry during the Vietnam War. Shortly after returning, Richard met his wife Karen and began his career as a tractor-trailer driver.
Richard was an avid car enthusiast. He loved working on cars, drag-racing and motorcycles and shared that passion & knowledge with his two sons. Richard will be dearly missed.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Karen; his 2 sons, Rich, Jr. and his wife Laura, and Shawn “Bubba”, both of Greenwood Lake, NY; and his grandson, Christopher.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2019 from 11am-1pm at Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1pm at the funeral home.
