
Daryl R. O’Rourke, age 77, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2026 in Williamsville, NY. Born on November 24, 1949 in Buffalo, NY, Daryl was the beloved son of Mildred Davies O’Rourke and William “Billy” O’Rourke who both predeceased him. Daryl spent his early years helping at his grandparents’ restaurant, The Crossroads, in Amherst. He grew up at the Williamsville Castle and attended Williamsville South High School and University at Buffalo. Daryl spent time as a History teacher and owned a liquor store, Burke and O’Rourke. Daryl married his dear ex-wife Tina and the couple lived in New York City. Daryl also resided in Connecticut and South Carolina, before returning to Williamsville to care for his mother and aunt Onalee Davies. In later years, Daryl was a fixture at Main Street restaurants where he loved to discuss history and debate politics. An avid history buff and master storyteller, Daryl was known to share historical quotes and anecdotes. Daryl will be remembered by those who loved him as a gentleman and a scholar. Daryl is survived by his cousin Kim McKale Addelman with whom he grew up, and many cousins and friends.
