Terry Cunningham Osgood, 68, of Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday, December 13th, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on February 1st, 1955, to the late Ruby and Bill Cunningham. She is survived by her husband, Charles Osgood, and her daughters, Leanne Gilbert and Melissa Woodruff.
More than just a daughter, mother, wife, and grandmother, she was the life of the party— a party she most likely planned. Terry was her given name, but she also answered to the "Energizer Bunny" and "Mrs. Summerlin Falls." Never one to rest, she was the Founder/President of her neighborhood’s Garden Club, Treasurer of the HOA, and a non-formal commissioner of weekly "flamingles."
Her most prized possessions were her Brahmin Bags, but first and foremost, her grandchildren. She was certainly a maximalist, evidenced by her enchanting Christmas decor, large-rimmed hats and glasses, and her outsized laughter. If her hands weren’t wrapped around a Jack On The Rocks, she was likely knee-deep in a garden or putting together an intricate puzzle. She loved getting others involved as well and shared special moments crafting with her grandchildren Jack, Jessie, Maddox, Hazel, Lanie, and Alex. She and her husband created a life that was never dull. In fact, ‘frenetic’ might be a better adjective. They loved to travel, especially to wineries or to wherever, really. She may have been happiest when the top was down on her fire-engine red Mustang but also found quiet contentment alone with a sewing machine.
Her family and friends will be celebrating her life with a High Tea at Far From France on Monday, December 18th, at 4 pm. Come dressed in your most festive red wardrobe to honor the life of a woman who was a light to so many.
