It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Barry Ronald Duncan, on March 1, 2012. Barry turned 84 on February 7. Left to remember and celebrate his life are his children Rick (Arvella) and Michelle (James), grandson Stephen, brothers Maurice (Norma) and Gordon (Josie) as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He is predeceased by his wife Gertie; son Kerry; brothers Mervin (Alvina), Douglas (Margaret), and Orville (Donna); sister Audrey (John); and parents John and Lillian. Barry was a dedicated, kind, gentle, family man with a great sense of humour and a sharp eye for a deal. He was a hard-working conductor for the CNR for 35 years before taking early retirement in 1983. In the time that followed he always enjoyed travel with Gertie to visit Kerry in Alberta and Rick in Ontario. He enjoyed daily coffee dates with friends, family and neighbours, and weekly games of whist with the Brieses were rarely missed. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Golden Links Lodge, and of Heritage Park Lodge for the quality care he has received in the last couple of months. Cremation has taken place, and his funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment will occur at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. THOMSON FUNERAL HOME 669 BROADWAY, WINNIPEG, MB R3C OX4 783-7211 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsonfuneralchapel.com
