Left behind to mourn her loss is her brother Peter Rempel (Liz) and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Nettie Rempel and her step-mom Helen Thiessen; her sisters Tina Dyck (Roland), Nettie Sawatsky (Henry), Mary Fehr (Isaac) and her brother Henry Rempel (Helen).
Lena worked for Paulin’s Chamber Cookie Factory for 33 years until her retirement in July, 1988.
She loved to travel all over Canada and the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Europe and she had many other adventures. Lena loved to do crafts, knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed going to the Rosetown Church to visit friends.
Thank you to the Riverview Health Centre for their care and compassion and a special thank you to Brian Fehr and Shirley Penner for taking care of her in her time of need.
Burial will take place on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Thomson “In the Park” Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard, funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Foundation.
Lena will be missed by her family and her many friends she made through her life.
