I feel so fortunate to have had Jean as my aunt. I will always remember Jean as a wonderful, brilliant, hilarious and compassionate auntie who made life so much more exciting just by being in her presence.
Jean was a huge influence in our lives as a female role model, starting in the late sixties. She was her own person with a great sense of self for a women of that era. Her wicked sense of humour was razor sharp, and she never suffered fools, yet was gentle and very kind hearted. Jean's compassion for animals and love of nature was humbling. I learned a lot of life lessons from my time living with her and our darling Uncle Wilf when I moved to Winnipeg in 1972 at the age of seventeen.
I will truly miss her soulful eyes, easy smile and contagious laugh. Rest in Peace Jean.
