Bob leaves a gaping hole in the life of his wife of 47 years, Janice. His memory will be forever treasured by his son Darryl (wife Kirsten, grandchildren Noah and Madeline) and his daughter Kelly (husband Greg deVries, grandchildren Neveah, Renatta, Maisy, Luke and Ethan). His children and grandchildren were the center of his universe and he was always quick to be there for them whether it was doing home renovations, playing a game of soccer or four square, watching a school concert or going swimming – or anything his grandkids wanted to do. He was the world’s best husband, father and grandfather.
Bob also leaves behind his brother Richard (Anne, Korey and Andrea) of Burlington, ON, his brother-in-law Bob (Susan, Clinton, Laura and Ken) and sisters-in-law Gloria (Christie and Pearse) and Yvonne (Shawn, Tracy and Andy). He was predeceased by his father Walter (1982), mother Catherine (2005), brothers Donald (1995) and Gerald (2010), and nephew Allan (2011).
Bob worked for 46 years for Mulder Construction/Maple Leaf before retiring in 2015 due to health issues.
At various times in his life he was a councilor with the R.M. of St. Clements, active in Corpus Christi parish, a coach for his children’s sports teams and an avid painter – as the many people who have his paintings hanging in their houses can attest to.
At Bob’s request no service will be held. Thanks to the professionals who assisted throughout each phase of his battle. Memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
