Alice was born May 25, 1928 at the home of her grandparents in Billings, Montana to parents, Joseph O. and Katherine Letcher Roberson. She resided with her parents in Absorkee, Montana until the spring of 1934 when the family moved to Grandview, Washington.
She started school at the Belmont rural school near Mabton and continued her education in the Grandview school district until the family moved to Yakima, Wa. in 1944. She graduated from Yakima High School (now Davis High) in 1946. She continued her education at Yakima Valley Junior College with a two year scholarship and graduated with the class of 1948.
In April of 1949 she married Donald R. Cone, her high school sweetheart. They were parents of Bradley D. and Bruce R. Cone. Don died in 1972 and in 1988 Alice married Charles L. Nelson of Grandview, Wa. Together they enjoyed their senior years with family, grandchildren and travel.
One of her most cherished times was the celebration of her birthday every May when the entire family gathered on the Oregon Coast for a weekend together. They had just completed the 26th annual gathering. She and her husband, Chuck, had traveled to all but 8 states during their 23 year marriage.
Alice enjoyed an accounting career with several local lumber and steel manufacturers, Carrol High School and ended her professional life as Finance Officer for the Catholic Diocese of Yakima. She retired in 1993.
She was a charter member of Holy Family Parish and was active until her death in her church affiliations. She was also a 73 year member of the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and served in various leadership positions within the entire Central Washington District of YLI as well as three years on the YLI Board of Grand Directors.
Alice was gifted with a journalistic ability which was enjoyed by family and friends. She personalized her own computer cards with heartfelt words and her spirituality. She was a long time editor for the monthly newsletter for Young Ladies Institute.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Don Cone and Charles Nelson, younger brothers Gerald L. Roberson of Hilo, Hawaii, James J. Roberson of Boise, Idaho and Joseph R. Roberson of Yakima.
She is survived by son, Brad Cone and wife Connie Heggenberger of Monroe, Wa, son Bruce Cone and step-son, Douglas Nelson of Yakima; Grandsons, Matthew Cone, wife Phoebe of Yakima, Wa, Seth Cone, Aracely Zuniga of Yakima; Grandson, Austin Cone, Michelle of Everett, Wa. and granddaughter Lacey Krohn, husband Erik and great grandson Kelby of Auburn, Wa.; sister, Margie Goulden, brother-in law, Jeff and niece, Molly Lesandrini, husband Jacob and son Caleb of Flagstaff, Arizona.

There will be a time of visitation from 4-8 PM, Rosary at 6:30PM, October 18, 2022, at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA. A mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, October 19, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
