Michael E. Meade

Michael E. Meade passed away on August 31, 2019 at age 77.

He was a lifelong Yonkers resident, born on January 12, 1942 to James Thomas and Edna Spangenberger Meade. Michael graduated from Saunders HS and entered the US Marine Corp. He attended boot camp in 1959 in Parris Island South Carolina, he was in the 8th Motor Transport Company in Camp LeJuene, North Carolina. Michael achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and was Honorably Discharged in 1963. Michael worked for Tuckahoe Housing in the Maintenance Dept. and later as a machine operator for Ideal Tea Co. in Yonkers. He was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan and an Oakland Raiders fan. Michael was extremely proud of his large family. He is survived by his brother Rory C (Patti) Meade, sisters Mary, Margaret Fitzpatrick, Virginia Cronin, Louisa Schweigert, Deborah Blomeley and Naomi Hippeli. He was predeceased by his parents James and Edna and a brother James A. Meade. Visitation will be in the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday September 5, 2019 from 2pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday in St. Joseph’s Church at 10am. Committal service will be at Ferncliff Chapel. One of my many,but most memorable memories was 1972 Michael.E,came to Parris Island and saw me graduate into the world's greatest fraternity U.S.M.C.,completing the trifecta of Meade brother Marines,SFMB, R.I.P. OoooRah !!Till we meet again.
