About

In the nearly 140 years since Edouard Darche opened one of the first funeral homes in Montreal, La Maison Darche Services funéraires has continually worked to provide top-quality funeral and cremation services to South Shore families.

To this day, our team continues to uphold Edouard’s credo: Listen carefully to families who are grieving the loss of their loved ones and put at their disposal all of our acquired knowledge and experience, taking into account their expectations, values and customs.

Comfortable funeral home and caring staff

Chapel at La Maison Darche Services funérairesIn a cozy, gray stone building on Cousineau Boulevard, our Saint-Hubert funeral home is welcoming and comforting. Our intimate chapel has ample seating and a beautiful stained-glass window. Should you wish to host a gathering of family and friends before or after a service, we have plenty of room to do that—and we can cater anything from an ice cream social to a sit-down dinner. Our on-site columbarium serves those who choose cremation.

La Maison Darche Services funéraires employs a caring, dedicated team who believes it is their mission to support families and plan memorial services that are as unique as the lives they celebrate. They take the time to find out what mattered most to the person you loved and create a funeral that speaks to his or her personality. Whether your mom was a baker or your brother loved to play guitar, we have ideas—from the perfect florals to personalized mementos, from musical suggestions to breath-taking processionals—that hit the right note and leave lasting impressions.

History

Front Exterior at La Maison Darche Services funérairesFounded by Edouard Darche in 1884 on Montreal’s South Shore, La Maison Darche Services funéraires played a big role in the area and became the standard for Quebec entrepreneurs of the time. Edouard emerged as a leader in funeral and cremation services when he opened one of the first funeral homes in the province at a time when the tradition was for bereaved families to lay their loved ones in state in their own homes.

La Maison Darche Services funéraires grew to include 5 locations covering much of the South Shore, Brossard, Saint-Hubert, Longueuil and La Prairie.

In time, the Darche family realized that they needed to maintain quality services while continuing to innovate, which is why La Maison Darche Services funéraires is a member of the Dignity Memorial network, the largest group of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers in North America.
