WE WERE VERY SAD TO HEAR OF VI'S PASSING. MY CONNECTION WITH VI WAS THROUGH THE NEWCOMER'S CLUB. EVERY JUNE WE WOULD HAVE A FAREWELL DINNER AND WE WOULD PUT ON A SHOW-SONGS, CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE ROUTINES, SKITS ,LIP SYNC AND LOTS OF COMMEDY. VI WAS A STAR AND TOOK ON WHATEVER ROLE WE GAVE HER EG. THE QUACKING DUCK IN NANA MISCOURI'S 'COU COU RUK COU COU. SHE LOVED THE STAGE AND ALWAYS SAID TO ME '' I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM DOING THIS AT ME AGE!!" SHE WAS SO PRECIOUS- I WILL NEVER FORGET HER.

Dear Frank and family,
We were very saddened to hear that Vi had passed away.
We have always enjoyed her vibrance  and beauty as a person.
She was always kind and generous.
I particularly remember  her playing the youngest child in
The Newcomers  presentation of The Sound of Music.  She was so
Sweet and seeing her carried away at the  end was so funny.
I know she enjoyed doing it immensely.  She was no longer shy after that.

Dear Frank and family,

We were deeply saddened to hear of  your dear Vi’s recent passing.  Over the years as part of the Toyota family we shared many great times together especially the trip to Japan.   More recently we were delighted to be able to enjoy your company at many activities in South Surrey.  
Vi was an inspiration to everyone and it was a privilege to call her a friend.  We will never forget Vi’s kindness,  gentle manner and most beautiful smile.

Many memories of being in the Sakaki home as a young girl with you, Judy.  Your Mom was always the best, so kind and welcoming.  Her warm reception continued when we bumped into each other over the years.  Her enthusiasm for life was always so genuine and inspiring.  Her kindness was always evident; you know she truly cared.  May your memories bring you comfort as you celebrate her life.   In friendship with my sincere sympathy, Tamera. 

As a young boy my family were neighbors to Frank and Vi in Kamloops BC. I remember Vi’s kindness and her smile. As young kids we always felt welcomed in their  home and Vi always had time for the three of us rowdy young boys. We are sorry for your loss and our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.

Dear Frank and Family
Alec and I are so shocked and saddened to hear of our dear friend Vi's death.   We will always remember her loving and caring ways.   We have many  great memories of little day trips with Vi and Frank.  We drove them to Blaine and got on board the little old ship, the Plover, for a sailing to the Semiahmoo Resort.   We enjoyed a great lunch there and did a little exploring by foot as well.  We introduced them to Anthony's Restaurant in Bellingham for "fish and chips" and a long walk through the Marina.  We remember they were so excited and happy and couldn't wait to bring their grandchildren to these places the next time they visited.    Vi and I struggled together as we both tried to learn how to play Bridge.   She encouraged me to keep on playing.   We will miss her very much.

We heard about Vi's passing on Sunday. Our hearts go out to Frank, Judy, Glen and the rest of the family. Vi (and Frank) were big inspirations to Linda and I in our 20s. I worked for Frank starting in the early 80s.  We loved the way Vi was always so positive, kind, and gentle to everyone.  We had a lot of fun with the two of them over the years.  Such a big loss for all. We are so sorry!

We are so saddened to learn today of Vi’s passing. Vi was the most kind and thoughtful person.  We enjoyed having you as neighbours in West Vancouver and were glad to see you move to South Surrey.  We have fond memories of the golfing, playing cards, Newcomers events and parties.

Dear Frank and Family, I was so saddened to get the news today. Vi was one of the kindest and happiest people ever! I fondly remember our times together with N.Kamloops Motors.  Rest in peace Vi, you will be missed by many.

I just found out today about Vi's passing. Vi and I worked together in the office of North Kamloops Motors. She was such a wonderful person and we had a lot of fun and laughter during my 5 years.  I remember great trips to Vancouver (Vi, Linda Miller and myself). We kept in touch after I became an RN and Frank and Vi attended my wedding years later. I will always remember her special smile and the wonderful person she was to so many.

Please accept my deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Frank and the entire Sakaki family on the passing of Vi. I only learned about this just this morning. I am so sorry for your loss. 
I first met Vi when my husband Rod and I first moved to Kamloops. Frank and Vi bought their house on the same day we bought ours in Aberdeen. We became friends and shared many good times together. Vi was a lovely and gracious host, loved her cooking and and especially her baking. Vi had a wonderful sense of humour, warm smile and always made you feel so welcomed. I will always remember her kindness.


Vi was a small woman endowed with great strength and energy – no doubt traits she inherited from our Mom. With her 3 siblings employed half a continent away, she single-handedly assumed responsibility of caring for our parent’s well-being, running errands and seeing to other chores. This she did with great dedication!

After Mom’s death, she kept Dad’s house neat and comfortable while ensuring that he was following a healthy diet. Later when Dad became ill, her presence would have been a source of comfort and companionship in his remaining years.

Sorry to hear about the passing of our beloved cousin, Violet.  I recall the generosity of Violet's entire family when our family who lived in Monte Lake visited the Nishizaki family in Kamloops.  My mom told me that Violet baby sat me in Sandon and usually took me to meet dad when he returned from road camp.  Lucy and myself give our condolences to her entire family. Although we have not visited with Vi in many years, I have fond memories of her from a very young age, she was a wonderful cousin who cared for me as a child and then in my teen years she looked after me when I had a summer job at her families business. I remember her mostly as being very upbeat and energetic, never down. I wish we had kept in touch over the years. Our condolences go out to the family. We are thinking of them at this time.
