Today is the fourth anniversary of your going home to Heaven. I miss you just as much today as the first day you left us. I have such beautiful memories of you as not just my Daddy but as my hero. You were there for me whenever I needed you, through thick and thin. I came across this picture of you by the Royal Gorge feeding an apple to a deer. You were a great hunter and apparently a great friend to the deer too.☺️ Love and miss you Daddy more than I can say.💔❤️‍🩹❤️

Thinking of you today, my dear precious Daddy. Two years have passed so quickly but there is not one day that has gone by that I have not missed you. Sometimes,  just for a few fleeting moments, I reach for the phone to call you to check on you and let you know that I love you.  I know you are at peace and with our Heavenly Father, Mama, Manny and our loved ones in heaven. Until we meet again I will keep you close in my thoughts and heart. I reached for the phone to call you today to wish you a happy birthday, but instead I had to look up toward Heaven and say, “Happy Birthday Daddy”!! I miss you so much.  Although you are not here with us I can feel your love and see it in my life. You believed in me and made me a better person.  You instilled in us your work ethic and love of family. Thank you for loving our Mama and showing us how to love unconditionally. Most of all you gave us the gift of knowing there is a God and with that came the revelation of truth...Jesus is our Savior.

It has been two months today that you left us to be in Heaven with Jesus. I'm grateful that God gave you to me. I'm thankful for the love you had for me and for the wonderful memories of our precious time together. I love and miss you Daddy.

Our Dad loved to shop at Walmart late at night. He said it was good exercise for him and the store was less crowded at night. We would get concerned when he didn't answer his phone because he was still gone and it was almost midnight. Manuel & Verna, Josh 1 or Josh 2 would sometimes secretly drive to Walmart, find his car in the parking lot, sneak around the store until they found him and make sure he was okay without him seeing them, or so we thought.😉 We finally got wise and started using the family locator, we could pinpoint his location right down to the section he was in, at the store.😄 He decided going to the store in the daytime might be easier on all of us grownup kids. One day he wasn't answering his phone, again. We sent out the troops to try to find him but he wasn't at any of the stores he usually shopped at. He was MIA! So we had to resort to the family locator again. We located him on 7th Street. So once again Manuel found him without him knowing he was being followed, keeping a safe distance until he got safely home.😉 He told us he had met a young married couple earlier in the day at Goodwill, and when he saw them walking he felt sorry for them and offered them a ride home. He didn't think it was a big deal. He did what any friend would do, he gave them a ride home. He had such a good, tender, and kind heart.❤ We finally broke down and told him about our concern for him and about spying on him in person and with the family locator. He laughed and said, "Ahhh, my goodness, you did that, all of you? What did you think was going to happen to me?"🤔 We thought he was going to be upset but he wasn't. We think he knew all along but wanted to keep us on our toes. He said it was okay, he knew we did it because we loved him. After our confession he would call and ask if we knew where he was, and if we knew his exact location. He loved the new technology and got a kick out of giving us a hard time.🤣 We loved him for that.💞😘

Daddy, 
You've been gone for one month now. I can't tell you how many times I've reached for the phone to call you, just to hear your voice and tell you I love you. I miss my time with you so much.💗

I have so many beautiful memories of our time together. One of the memories that stands out is our drive to Colorado City for breakfast. We decided to take the long way home through San Isabel National Forest. We drove by Bishop's Castle, Lake Isabel, and we got to see the leaves changing color on the mountainsides. I remember you saying, "I know without a doubt there is a God, no one else could have created something so beautiful". We talked, we laughed, and we cried as the drive brought back so many happy memories. You told me how much you missed Mama, hearing her sing and pray, but just sitting or lying in bed holding her hand is what you missed the most. We listened to your favorite hymns on our way through the beautiful mountains. Remembering all of the happy times we shared as a family at home and on vacations brought joy to your heart as you shared your thoughts, reminiscing of wonderful times gone by. We ended our drive at Mama's gravesite, it was bittersweet. 💔💖

This is one of the many memories I will cherish forever.  I love and miss you, my Daddy, my Friend.❤

I am thankful that I got to know you and became close to you. The day I met you, I saw the strength you had for your family, the wisdom you shared in life and the love you had for family and freinds.  I remember when I would walk into your room and you would say, "listo?" meaning was I ready to box with you. I am thankful for the bond we had. I know I will miss those talks we have had and the time we have spent together. You will be truly missed.  

My Grandfather Louis Martinez Was The Greatest Man I Will Ever Know He Was A Caring Respectful God Fearing Man.
He Taught Me How To Be A Man Of God An How To Take Care Of My Own Family His Love An Care For His Family An Friends Was Like No Other If You Needed Anything He Was The Man To Give It If He Could.
I Am So Grateful My Kids Joshua III,Jeremy,An Amrie-His Great Grand Children Had The Opportunity To Build A Life Long Bond An Love For Him.
I Remember When I Was 9yrs Old One Morning After Are Regular Routine Of Breakfast At Country Kitchen He Took Me Quail Hunting Just Outside Pueblo To A Place I Knew An I Got My Limit Of 8 Quail An On Our Way Back Home We Were Stoped By The Game Warden An The Police As They  Thought We Were In City Limits An He Defended Me Till They Agreed An Left Us With My Quail.
That Memory Will Stay With Me Forever As Well As Others.
I Will Try My Hardest To Live Up To What You Have Taught Me And Taking Care Of My Family As You Did I Love You PaPa An It Pains Me Everyday Not Waking Up An Talking To You But I Know You Are With Grandma Drinking Coffee At Peace.

Uncle Louis was one of the most kind-hearted man I've met.  Whenever Michael and I visited from Denver he was so inviting and friendly he made our visits so enjoyable.  It was such a pleasure to listen to his conversations of his youth and his love of his family.            He was so happy to take a drive with us to the farms to show us where to buy the best Pueblo chili. His love of life and family showed in the genuine smile he had.  I will remember his smile 😊.  

My memories of uncle are always of him having a good sense of humor. The last time I saw him in May we had a great visit he told me that when God calls him he's going to run away and hide; but God chose to take him in his sleep. When I was a little boy he always wanted me to sing "It's the Holy Ghost on fire and it's keeping me alive". I couldn't pronounce the word alive and instead sang "a lie" it always amused him. He always referred to me as "The Holy Ghost on fire". He will be dearly missed.

I don’t know where to start I have so many good memories 
I been in the Martinez family since 1950 when I married his brother but one memory is when he bought his new red 🚗 car and he took me to the lake to get baptized in Jesus name. I remember him as a loving,kind a good person I will miss him.may He Rest in peace  

When I heard that Uncle Louie passed into Heaven, tears filled my eyes~
I remember so clearly, I was a child when Uncle Louie sat me down, he started to teach me his address. I was a little confused at first!  Then  he tells me that if I ever get lost, give them this address, 1519 E 13th ...!  I felt so comforted knowing I had his home as a safe place! 
 HEAVEN is the new address... My new place to be safe and comforted~  See you there~!

their memory becomes a treasure."  
I think this is so true.  
Sometimes we don't realize what a treasure we had until we don't have it any longer.  
I want to remember Uncle Louie as a treasure.  
I wish I'd valued this treasure more.  I am guilty of this neglect. 

May Uncle Louie be rejoicing in his reuniting with Aunt Caroline. I'm certain that she was waiting for him with open arms.

My condolences to the Martinez family. So many fond memories that I shall always hold dear to my heart. God bless you all!

Mr.  Martinez will be missed dearly. I met him when I was a kid and he was so kind and funny. He laughed at me exaggerating my Texan accent and I was in awe at how he could eat a jalapeno like a pickle. I pray that God gives comfort to his family that is still here, because I know he is at peace and home with our Lord.

Oh where to begin!? I remember many years ago I "vacationed" in Colorado and boy was I a pain in butt! I was a little difficult to say the least but Mr. Martinez and the whole family were all welcoming. I remember feeling accepted and cared about. Spending time with the family, I was able to witness the love everyone had for each other. That was many moons ago but I still remember like it was yesterday.  Mr. Martinez, thank you for being a great man to my sister and I that one summer. May you rest in peace.  May god bless your family always ❤

A papa bear I just wanted 2 let you no how much you mean to me and how much I love you I look back and remember how close you and I are I wouldn't let nobody pick me up but you and you would let me stand next to you and your truck and we would go get ice cream I look back at all the times we've shared together you are amazing not only you've been my Papa you are my role model hero and guardian angel you're now with Grandma and pookie I love you very very much thanks for everything you have done for me right wrong or indifferent you stood by my side no matter what because you are awesome and I will do my best to be the man you have been.
