Visitation will be 12:00-2:00pm, Wednesday, November 20, 2019, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with interment in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Lois was born January 16, 1933, in Yazoo County, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Fred Franklin Bloom and Mary Irene Sanders Bloom.
She joined the staff of Mississippi State Hospital in 1956 where she faithfully served as a nurse's aid until her retirement in 1988. In addition to caring for her patients, Lois loved babies and small children, and often cared for them in her home. Many delighted babies learned peek-a-boo from Lois.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lois lavished her love and attention on her family. Her daughters have fond recollections of their mother's love of the Christmas holidays and her silver Christmas tree, and afternoons spent jumping rope together. Lois also enjoyed memorable times with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She could often be found coloring or drawing on bouncy balls to the giddy entertainment of her special little ones.
She is survived by her three daughters, Sandra Meadows, Barbara Pham, and Brenda Odom; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Grubbs; granddaughter, Jennifer Pham; and great-grandson, Bentley Jaxon Grammar.
