Bill graduated from Rapid City High School, Rapid City, South Dakota in 1962.
In the fall of 1962, he came to Atlanta. He worked at various jobs and studied at Southern Institute of Technology. In 1966, he moved to Charlotte, NC. He worked in the converting department at Dillard Paper Company. At night, he took courses in Electrical Electronic Technology at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. In 1974, he became a Packaging Service Technician in Dillard Packaging Division. He continued in this position in a move to Atlanta in 1983. In 1990's Dillard Packaging became a part of Xpedx: a division of International Paper Company. In retirement, Bill enjoyed reading books, newspapers, etc. He enjoyed the quiet of his home with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward A. Cooper; his mother, Joanne M Williams; and his sister, Bonnie Cooper Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Jane Cooper, Tucker, GA; his twin daughters, Shannon Cooper and Joanne Cooper both of Tucker, GA; his aunt, Dorothy C. Pierotti, Atlanta, GA.
Bill was cremated and his ashes will be spread in the Pacific Ocean of the coast of San Diego.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 11 am at the Tucker First United Methodist Church, LaVista Rd., Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am at the church.
