There are so many wonderful things to remember about my sister Cyma. I remember seeing her after she was born in the hospital in Baghdad. I remember the room she and Mom were in. I was 7years old. The next memory was when she was 12 and walking down the aisle at my wedding. Also , summer of 1968 when she and Edna came to visit me and Jimmy in Chicago for a visit then took my daughter Karen who was 3 years old , back to New York to look after her while Jimmy and I went to California.

She was shy but very warm and helpful. She was an amazing wife , mother and grandmother. She was very artistic , something you could see in her home and herself.

We got together whenever we came to NY . Then the many times we got together in Florida with Mom and Edna and Cyma's Family. We were lucky to have her and Phil at our Granddaughter  Kayla's Bat Mitzvah last  October.

We are heartbroken but will always look back and cherish many more memories of Cyma.

Grace

Cyma was one of the youngest of our first cousins. Sadly she was taken away too soon. When Cyma and her family arrived to New York, my family lived in Montreal. We spent our summers together in Montreal and our Christmas holidays in New York. Cyma tagged along as our little cousin- often saying that no one ever told her anything!
The last time I saw Cyma was on my visit to Florida 2 years ago. I went to her lovely new home where she served us brunch in her usual stylish way.  I believe the move to Florida was meant to be so that she spend her final days surrounded by her husband Phil, her daughters and their husbands and her grandchildren. I think of those she left behind and wish them strength, especially Phil who was such a devoted and loving husband. They were always together until the end.

Missing my loving sister Cyma so much.  I have amazing, fun & awesome memories.  Growing up with you in NYC till we got married. Had kids at the same time.  Talked about babies, nursery school, colleges, and then our kid's weddings.  Our weekends in NY, our week at the beach in the summer, and our week in FL in January with Mom & Grace & the Aunts.
My life will not be the same.  Will miss our 7:45AM calls.

I will miss my Aunt Cyma so much! I will miss her sense of humor, laugh, talent for art and cooking, and the way she would make our family visits light, chatty, and warm.  She loved her family so much and recently told me that I made the right choice to move closer to my parents because there's nothing like living close to family. She is right of course. Miss and love you C.  xoxo. 

Cyma was a special lady a wonderful friend she will be missed beyond words. It was not supposed to be this way we thought we would grow old together! She was taken way to soon. I have so many beautiful memories of the fun times we spent together with our A group friends  She will always be with us !

 To the family of  Cyma Abrams,
 I was shocked and saddened  to hear about the passing of Cyma Abrams. I met Cyma when I was 19 years old and we worked together at a hosiery store on east 86 Street in Manhattan.  We became good friends and we knew a lot of family members from our extended family.  It was a pleasure to spend time with her and I know she  has a beautiful family.  May her memory be a blessing. My sincerest condolences to the family.
