John was one of my first bosses at Legislative Services. He was kind, intelligent and a good friend.   He will be missed.

John was a friend and attorney whom I could always count on to give me his honest assessment of the proper manner of resolving a complicated land development issue.  He was wiling to take the time to share his thoughts, and I miss him very much.

I just learned of John’s passing, and so sorry to hear of it. 

John was my boss at Legislative Services Agency, my first job out of college. He was a good man that cared about getting the job done right, yet also cared about his employees enough to inject some fun into our work.

During one of the most mundane parts of our job, I remember him walking by me and purposely dropping his hat, because he knew I laughed “at the drop of a hat.” Good stuff.

Great memories from childhood with my cousin. So glad I was able to spend time eating and talking with him last year at my dad's memorial dinner. Hug my dad for me, Jackie. You will be missed. Love you, Cous

We had the pleasure of working with John for several years at the Statehouse and knew him as a high achieving colleague with a keen legal mind, a remarkable capacity for work, and a great sense of humor. When a medical crisis struck our family, John and Nancy were among the very first to offer their support and help us  bear the burden. John was a truly good man. Our world would be a much better place if there were more like him.  Our heartfelt condolences to Nancy and John's whole family.  May God be with you in this time of sorrow.

I am so sorry for your sudden loss. The Molitor family will be in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate these new waters. John was a true gentleman and loved a good hat. He took time out of his day to stop by for conversation. He was so knowledgeable about his field of law and it was an honor to work with him through the years to benefit Carmel. I will always remember seeing John and his dad across the golf course during various fundraisers. They were easy to spot, both sporting stylish summer fedoras! John will be missed! 

John, was good man and greatly contributed to the planning profession.  His knowledge, patience and skills for engaging people and organizations served him well.  Indiana planners owe a great deal of gratitude to John for the time and effort he invested in advancing the planning profession.  I hope the family takes some measure of comfort knowing that John helped so many and improved Indiana's capacity to create a better built environment.

I think many planners in Indiana considered John our land use law mentor! He was a great guy with a good sense of humor, a creative mind and a willingness to work hard. I am still in shock at the news. Please know that John was a treasured friend and advisor to many of us. Find comfort in the fact that his impact on Indiana's communities was big and positive. He will be sorely missed.

John was such a pleasure to work with.  I met John shortly after I started working for the City of Jasper.  As an attorney, new to municipal practice, I depended on John's expertise so often.  He was always willing to help find answers to the issues that we posed and it was clear that he had a genuine desire to help the communities  and attorneys with which he worked.  I will miss him.

Very saddened to learn of John's passing. John was the Attorney for the WPC Board of which I was a board member for many years. A true professional and caring man. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family.

Fresh out of law school I was lucky to be hired as assistant legal counsel to the attorney for majority of the House of Representatives and in that capacity I first met John in 1980. What a wonderful happenstance. Throughout the next 40 years and as late as earlier this year I worked with him on zoning matters in Hancock County and he was always a fountain of accurate and insightful information. Land planning attorneys all over the state have suffered a great loss and I join in others who have commented to express my deepest sympathies to his family for his all too early passing away.

John was a great lawyer.
We worked together on the Indiana Code Revision Commission.
He was an even better person and friend.
My sincere condolences to the Molitor family.

I am stunned and saddened to receive this news.  He was knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with.  I'm sorry for his family's loss and that of our bar.  

John was a good man who believed in helping folks and their communities. He will be greatly missed. God bless.
