Joann was born on June 20, 1929 in Matawan, NJ to the late Malcolm and Edith (Bryant) Fairfield. Joann and Hugh Risdon were married in February 25, 1950 and lived in Frankford Township until 1961 when they moved to Branchville with their two boys Hugh, Jr. and Glenn. They soon had Jeffrey, Grant and John. She was the secretary for Branchville and Frankford Township Planning Boards. She served two terms on the Branchville School Board and two terms as Republican Committeewoman. She also served many years as the municipal clerk for Frankford Township.
The beloved wife of Hugh Risdon, Joann is survived by her sons; Hugh, Jr., Glen, Jeffrey and his wife Nancy, Grant and John and her grandchildren Harper, Campbell, Emily and Amy. Along with her parents, Joann is predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St. Branchville, NJ 07821 from 10-11 a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Branchville Cemetery in Branchville, NJ.
