I first met David when he came to Forward Air back in 2015. He would always make it a point to come and talk to us drivers whenever he came over to the Columbus terminal in Ohio to ask about our concerns, etc. He was always trying to find solutions and improve procedures. Whenever David saw me, he would always come over and talk to me just to say hello. I always liked that about him and I was always glad to see him when he came around. I will miss David greatly, he was a good man. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to all of you. You have my deepest sympathy.

I knew Dave from the transportation industry and while we were competitors for most of our careers I was blessed to be able to call him friend.  He truly was the class of the industry and will be missed by many.  My condolences go out to his family.  RIP Dave!

Amy, I am sorry to hear of David’s passing. You and the family will be in our prayers. 

I worked with Dave at Towne Air Freight in South Bend Indiana and later moved to the Fort Wayne terminal after it became Forward Air. Dave leaves us with fond memories and we’re thankful to have been a part of his life.  Here are a few of those memories.  Everyday Dave would greet us with a smile and ask how we were doing. He often inquired how many laps we had walked that day for he was an avid jogger and would tell us we had done great!  Dave would bring in those famous donuts and later stop by to see if I had caved and had one.  We were devoted to putting in a good day’s work.  One day was extra tough and he reminded me that I came first than work.  It was evident the love, devotion & pride he had for his family.  I enjoyed hearing about his family, planting a beautiful memorial tree, grandchildren and the pond.  Dave had a unique presence about him and he will be missed so much.  Amy & family, may God bless you and comfort you.

Dave was a mentor and friend. I truly learned so much about being a better and honest  person from him. He allowed us to visit him once to his home in Elkhart and I genuinely cherished the talks we had. We never lost touch thru the years and every Sunday I would look forward to our text about his colts and I about my Dolphins. I am going to miss that along with knowing I lost a friend and mentor. I condolences to his family. Dave truly impacted people in ways others will never know.

To the grandchildren of Dave and Amy:
    Your Grandfather and I are first cousins who grew up a few miles from each other.  We spent time together on his parents farm as young kids.  Many times we would walk across the field to his Grandparents farm.  You could tell this was someplace special for him.  He really looked up to his Grandpa.   I was not surprised when your grandparents bought his farm.  Your Grandpa kept it as neat and tidy as his Grandpa. 
      I had a lot of fun on those farms and I hope you do too.  I also hope you hear people say “You’re just like your Grandpa.”
      
Amy, Dustin, Ben, Chelsea, Janet, Judy, Susan and Linda:  I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  You will continue to be in my thoughts.

I worked with Dave for 17 years at Towne and transitioned with him to Forward where I continued to work with him on a regular basis. He was a great man dedicated to his family, to his God and to his work. He will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

He sings a new song now. A great song.

I was so saddened to hear about Dave.  I worked with Dave at Towne Air Freight for five years and whilst I had not seen him in a few years, it was always nice when we would reconnect at an industry conference.  He was a true gentleman, professional and a servant leader.  I know what he cherished and loved most was his family.   I remember when I moved to South Bend from California in January of 2008, I was living in a one room apartment until my wife joined me  and Dave and Amy invited me to their home for dinner and to watch the final round of the Masters.  I saw first hand what a wonderful family Dave had and why he cherished them so.  Dave will be missed by so many and I will keep him and all of you in my prayers.
