Born May 10th 1936 in Hornell, NY to Loren Edwards and Dorothy Ziekelback. She attended Hornell High School.
Married Donald Paulsen, just 10 days after a blind date in Beaufort, South Carolina and moved to Lincoln, NE. They were married July 20, 1953 and enjoyed 55 years of marriage.
Doris enjoyed camping, boating, her flowers and her family. Spent many times pitching the tent, fishing with the family and enjoying the outdoors. She worked alongside her Husband Don, as the office manager at State Farm Insurance and kept the office flowing efficiently. If you ever visited her home you would find it spotless, and organized. She loved cleaning and painting. Growing up she turn jobs for her kids into a game.
Family includes son, Dane (Sue) Paulsen and daughter Denise Paulsen all of Lincoln, NE, daughter in-law Sandra Paulsen of Hickman, NE; brother Jerry (Kathy) Edwards of Hornell, NY. Sister in-law Priscilla Edwards of Springfield; MO, Brother and Sister in-law David and Barbara Paulsen of Mesquite , TX. Grandchildren Jacob Paulsen of Hickman, NE and Jennifer (Josh) Schaaf of Lincoln, NE. Four Great Grandchildren Tucker, Sawyer, Eleanor, Annabelle and has several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by husband Donald, son David Paulsen, brother Ernest, sister Evelyn, brother- and sister-in-law, Lee and Bertie Paulsen.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2021, from 5:00-7:00pm, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE. Funeral Service will be Friday, June 11, 2021, at 10:00am, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. 6700 S. 14th St, Lincoln, NE.
