Billy had a love for life, nature and animals. He enjoyed hiking, football, baseball, bowling and swimming. He liked classic rock, westerns, and was a food connoisseur. Billy was an organ donor. He was very loyal to his family and friends, having a good heart and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Christine K. Smoot, and Dr. E. Brayton Smoot; mother, Martha Jane Smoot; and brother, Robert “Bobby” Bachelder.
He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth M. (Bachelder) Wirick (Danny), Cynthia (Bachelder) Gibson, and Dee (Bachelder) Flick; niece, Audrey Gibson; and nephew, Blaise Flick.
A graveside service will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2020 at Alexander Memorial Park, officiated by Father Jason Gries.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Autism Society of Indiana or SARDAA- Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America.
