Maria T. Hernandez

was a local beauty queen and met her husband, Dr. Antonio Hernandez. They were married on October 15, 1949 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

In addition to being a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Maria was known to be the life of the party and matriarch and heartbeat of her large family. A beauty queen until the end, she was renowned for her signature jet black hair, red lipstick and perfectly manicured nails as well as enjoying wearing crowns and tiaras at her birthday parties.

Maria is survived by her six wonderful children Joe (Debbie), Mark (Linda), Carlos, Dave (Nancy), Rick (Melinda) and Terri; her grandchildren Leah, Esther (Rob), Michael (Heidi), Elizabeth, Catherine, Ryan (Kimberly), Paige, Aaron, Alex, Brittany, Derek (Jessica) and Madeline; her great grandchildren William, Matthew, Zachary, Kailey, Jeremiah and Dahlia.

Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Antonio Hernandez, her parents and her sisters and brothers.

Due to the COVID pandemic, there will be no viewing or visitation. A private service will be held for family in Corpus Christi, Texas at a later date.
