Sara was born November 13, 1928 on her parents’ homestead near Lisieux, Saskatchewan. She attended Joeville country school and was a boarder at Willow Bunch and Forget convents for a short while. She preferred staying at home, helping mom. In 1946-47 Sara joined a religious community. Due to illness, she was dispensed of her vows in 1969. In 1964 she had the privilege and joy of travelling to France and Rome, Italy. She worked in different senior homes as care-giver: Hospice at St. Hubert, SK and Mont St. Joseph in Weyburn, SK., at Edmonton, and Athabasca in Alberta. Later she moved to Gravelbourg where she was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital and Foyer d'Youville and also cared for her parents. In 1986 East Side court in Assiniboia became her home, and in 2013 was admitted in Long Term Care Facility. In 2009 she joined the CWL, not as an active member, but was able to benefit from the merits of their good deeds, prayers, comforting words and visits. Sara enjoyed hand crafts, nature, gardening and studying the bible and world history, playing cards and games, conversation and family. Her inspiration was the faith of her parents and the love of her family. Sara’s motto was to “Strive for a deeper love of my God and a deeper faith.” Predeceased by her parents Adéline and Henri Bouvier, sisters Henriette, Juliette, Jeanne d’Arc Pinel and Patricia (Paul dec’d) Lemire and brothers Léopold (Claire), Xavier (Jeanne), André and Joseph, Sara is survived by sisters: Florence (Claude dec’d) Gauthier, Cordélia (Leonard) Scheltgen, Odile (Leger dec’d) Girard, Rose (George dec’d) Faucher, Solange (Gilbert) Gauthier and brothers: Cléophas (Diane), Henri (Lorraine dec’d), Antoine (Joan), Félix (Renée), Jean-Marie (Janine) and Eugène (Laurie), sisters-in-law Claire and Jeanne, as well as wonderful nieces, nephews and their families.
