Dennis Ray Bowen

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Dennis Ray Bowen, who passed from this life on Thursday, October 3, 2019. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Chase Dowdy will officiate. Morgan Funeral Chapel directing. The family will receive friends from 11am until time of service. Dennis was born in Attalla on February 6, 1942. He was proceeded in death by his wife Paulette “Fatty” Bowen, his parents, and several siblings. He loved to hunt, fish, and watch Alabama football. He is survived by daughters, Tammy (Matt) Smith, Peggy (David) Whitten, Gladys “Bud” Bowen; brothers, Jerry, Jack, and Tim; sister, Rosette “Shorty” Payne; special grandson, Magnum Waldrop; other grandchildren, Ashleigh, Amber, Allison, Shelby, Parker Ray, and Wayne; great-grandchildren, Dough, Chubs, Shaun, Wide Open, Brayden, Brynlee, Lilly, Mia, Henz, Ky, Camman, and Liam, and pets, Ben, Crazy Bird, and Binx, and Ivalee. Pallbearers will be Jacob Barnard, Randy Barnard, Jeff Blanks, Christopher Bowen, Nick Bowen, Wayne Cornette, Joe Hill, and Jon Ross Long. Honorary Pallbearers are Amedisys Hospice, Mayor Larry Means, Harold Adcock, Brim Thompson, and Charles Campbell.
