Maurine Griffin

Maurine Griffin age 90 a longtime resident of Austin passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 3, 2019. She was born on Monday, August 6, 1928 to Dallas and Bera Robinett in Santa Anna, Texas. Maurine was a bookkeeper and retired from Del Valle School District after many years. She was extremely strong and independent, loved her family, avid reader, enjoyed working in her yard and loved her dogs that loved her back. She is preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Grady H. Griffin; sons, Terry G. Griffin, Gary Griffin; parents, Dallas and Bera Robinett; sister, Mary Dunn of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Robert Robinett of Santa Anna, Texas, Jim Robinett of Chimney Rock, Colorado. Many thanks to the staff of at Grace Hospice for their care and support. Maurine is survived by her daughters, Kay Walden and husband Don of Buda, Texas, Susan Griffin of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sheila Griffin of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Bazemore, Heather Stroud, Jason Walden; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Robinett of Brady, Texas; and many extended family and friends. At mom’s request, a Graveside Service will be held at a later at Assumption Cemetery that will be officiated by Jeff Robinett. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Hospice, Austin, Texas.
