Obituary of Jane Knuth Strader
Jane Ellen Knuth Beischer Strader August 31, 1943 – October 4, 2019 Jane Strader, 76, of Homosassa, FL, passed away after a brief illness in Oak Hill Hospital on Friday, October 4, 2019. Diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in September 2018, Jane fought against the disease like a warrior and was declared cancer-free in April 2019. Born to parents Ralph and Lois (Heffron) Knuth, Jane spent her early years in Flint, Michigan and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Delta Community College in Bay City, Michigan. In 1982, Jane moved her family to Citrus County Florida, where she worked as a Collections Manager for Florida Water/Hernando County Utilities and single-handedly raised her two children. Jane was a devoted mother, always participating in extracurricular activities with her kids, especially speed skating. She was always their number one fan. In 1998, Jane was invited to a Jaycee social, where she met Robert Strader; after a long courtship, Jane and Robert were married in Navarre, FL in 2008. In her free time, Jane enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, knitting, thrift shopping, antiquing, and cooking. Family gatherings were important to Jane, and were marked with an abundance of delicious dishes and treats - especially her homemade hot fudge sauce (a Christmastime speciality). A truly lovely woman who enriched the lives of everyone around her, Jane had a smile and laugh that would light up the room. Kind and generous, Jane was a source of limitless love and support to her family. Jane is survived by her husband Robert Strader, son Eric Beischer (Tara), daughter Heidi Townsend, stepdaughters Wendy Smith (Nick) and Jennifer Durrett, grandchildren Lukas, Michael, Kayla, Rayna, Dana, Shawn, Hannah, and Harper, and is remembered with love by innumerable friends and extended family members. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Fero Funeral Home, 5955 N Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
