Josephine Poweska

Peacefully, at Foxridge Care Community on June 18, 2019 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late John Poweska. Loving mother of the Greg (Mary) and late David. Dear Grandma of Sonya (Craig Sifton) and Adam (Joanna) and great-grandma of Sora, Maxon, Emery and Leo. Survived by siblings Pauline (Eugene) Adamczyk, Edward (Gloria) Sasiela and Ben (Heather) Sasiela. Josephine was an active member of the Polish Alliance-Branch 10, Ladies Circle, St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and the Choir. The family will receive friends at the “THORPE BROTHERS’ FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL”, 96 West St., on Friday, June 21st from 5-8pm with Parish Prayers at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 235 Brant Ave., on Saturday, June 22nd at 10am. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society or St. Joseph’s Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family.
