HISTORY Crisanta Espiritu LEONARDO was born on November 1, 1936 in San Dionisio, Paranaque City, Philippines to Avelino Espiritu and Dolores Ferrer. There are 9 siblings in her family. She has 6 sisters and 2 brothers. Crisanta was the third child. She was either called “Santa” or “ Nanay.” In the Philippines, she worked as a seamstress at the Philippines American Embroidery (PAE). She was married to Ernesto Leonardo on December 1962. They were blessed with two boys: Eric and the late Edgar. They came to Canada in August 1994. Crisanta passed away on March 24, 2018. She had breast cancer.
