Gary Lee Pierce

Gary Lee Pierce finished his fight with ALS on April 29, 2019 and is now home with the Lord. He was born on September 23, 1955 in Melbourne, Florida to Helen "Betty" Gardner Pierce and Ansel "Rocky" Pierce. He loved to tell stories about his many adventures growing up traveling the world and getting into mischief with his brothers. As a young man, he followed his father’s example and joined the Air Force. Upon leaving the the Air Force, he moved to Euless, Texas where he met his wife Vickie Warden Pierce. The two were married for 38 years, and had two children. He was a devoted and loving Husband, Dad, Uncle, and "Poobah." His family most remembers his sense of humor, his tall tales, and the many lessons he taught about life and how to be handy. His family moved to Burnet in 1989. He was a jack-of-all-trades, but most of all loved being his own boss. He opened Double "L" Repairs, and was known as "Mr. Fix-it" for 12 years by all the little old ladies in town. In the last 15 years, he was able to realize his dream of being a gunsmith and craftsman, by opening G. Pierce Gunsmithing and Sales. He was proceeded in death by his mother and father Betty and Rocky Pierce, his brother Roy Pierce, father-in-law Doug Warden, and brother-in-law Danny Warden. He is survived by his wife Vickie Pierce, daughter Chloe Pierce, her partner Mathew Trussell, grandson Brady Trussell, son Ethan Pierce, brother Charles Pierce and his wife Linda, sisters Shirley Ford and her husband Marlow and Roseann Pierce; mother-in-law Dollie Warden. brothers-in-law Tommy Warden and wife Peggy and Willy Warden. He is also survived by his many and greatly beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial service was held Saturday May 4 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
