IN THE CARE OF
Foster's Garden Chapel Funeral Home & Crematorium
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, Opa, uncle and friend on Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 85 years.
Hans was born in Karlshausen, Germany on June 30, 1933 and came to Canada in 1952. He worked at Jager Homes for more than 30 years as a carpenter. In his career he also was a bricklayer and a plasterer, he even plastered at the Foothills Hospital and the Calgary Tower.
Hans was a loving husband, was looked up to by many and was a friend to all. Always with a great sense of humour and quick wit, he enjoyed joking around and making people laugh. He also had a strong faith in God and was a longstanding member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
He is survived by the love of his life, Helen, to whom he was married for 60 years; his cherished children Monica Brown, Barb (Dennis) Claeys, Werner (Cindy) Pilz and Robbie (Lana) Pilz; his grandchildren Kelsey (Kyle) Ostermann, Andrew (Courtney) Claeys, Brittany Claeys, Mary (Scott) Medinsky, Claire Brown, Tommy (Candis) Brown; as well as five great-grandchildren.
Hans will be remembered for his gentle nature, mischievous smile and kind heart.
