Mildred Audrey Kavanagh

With sadness and heavy hearts her family announces that Mildred passed away peacefully, with family by her side on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at the age of 85. Beloved wife of Gerald “Gerry” for 59 years. Loving mother of Dale and Colleen (Herb) Harney. Devoted grandmother to Julie (Isaac Mullin). She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister Diane Puddester and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Violet Fifield, sisters Elsie (Gord) Mercer and Lillian (Gerald) Rees and brother-in-law Clayton Puddester. Mildred was one of the kindest, warmest souls you could ever meet. She was a true Newfoundlander, making all feel welcome in her home, ensuring no one left without a full belly. She enjoyed people, treating family, friends and strangers with kindness and respect. She was at her best when she was helping others. She enjoyed her time working at the C.M.H. Cafeteria but her true passions were caring for her family, spending time with friends, and playing cards. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to all of the staff at Hilltop Manor, especially the 3rd Floor staff and the support staff, for their extremely compassionate care. Visitation will be held at the T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St. Cambridge, ON, (519-623-1290) on Thursday, December 27, from 2– 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers will be said at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Church (210 South St. Cambridge, ON 519-621-2013) on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to support Hilltop Manor, Cambridge would be appreciated by the family.
