Armand Cruywels

Guillaume Armand Adrien Joseph Cruywels, late of Alida, Saskatchewan, passed away at Regina, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Armand was born July 27, 1947 in Manor, Saskatchewan. He was the 4th of 5 children to Guillaume and Regina Cruywels. As a child on the family farm, he is remembered as an adventures and mischievous child, who loved to make everyone laugh with his stories and jokes. Growing up he attended school in Cantal, Wauchope and Manor. Armand always had a passionate zest for life as it was often displayed with his dance moves at community socials, weddings and parties. On April 5, 1975 he married his life partner, Meryle Blakley. They began their life of farming together, but most important to Armand was family. Together they had 3 children. Armand was devoted to providing the best life experiences for his wife, children, and eventually grandchildren. Armand enjoyed traveling with his family creating many great memories. Armand was a firm believer in “hard work pays off”, being a constant visual example of that. On August 8th 2018 Armand left this world surrounded by his family at his side. Armand is remembered by his wife, Meryle; children, Aron (Glenda), Rachelle (Wes) Smith; grandchildren, Madison, Callie & Alexandra Smith, Levi & Ashton Davies; his mother, Regina; brothers, Laurent (Odette) & Denis (Cindy); sisters, Lucille (Stan) Poirier & Marilyn (Alfred) Blerot; mother-in-law, Florence Blakley. Predeceased by an infant daughter, Anne-Marie; father, Guillaume; father-in-law, Ivan Blakley. Funeral Mass: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 from St. Raphael’s R.C. Church, Cantal, Saskatchewan with The Reverend Father Ed Hengen officiating. Interment: St. Raphael’s Parish Cemetery. Prayers: 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 from St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church, Cantal Arrangements in care of the Orsted Funeral Home (Carlyle)
