Obituary of Rosanna DeBusk
Rosanna "Zanna" DeBusk Rosanna was born February 25, 1938 to Martha Rose and Robert Brenton Parker, Sr. in Carson City, NV where she lived until her death December 21, 2018. She passed peacefully at home with her family at her side. Zanna grew up in Carson City, graduating from Carson High School in 1956. In 1957 she met her husband of 55 years, William “Bill” DeBusk of Sweetwater, Texas at Carson City’s annual Nevada Day Celebration while on liberty from serving in the US Navy. They were married March 9, 1958 in Carson City. They moved to Alameda, CA where Bill was stationed and returned to Carson upon his discharge in 1960 marking the only time she did not live in or near Carson. Once back in Carson City, Rosanna went to work for the state of Nevada spending most of her career with the Department of Education and the Registrar’s Office at Western Nevada (Community) College where she retired in 1999. As a third generation Nevadan, Rosanna was very proud of her Northern Nevada roots. She loved Carson City and the surrounding Sierra Mountains as well as touring the state she called home. Despite her love for Nevada it paled in comparison her devotion to family and friends. Zanna was preceded in death by her husband, both her parents and sister Roberta Parker Musselman. She is survived by her sons Mike (Netti) DeBusk of Smith Valley, NV; Mark (Karen) DeBusk of Carson City, NV; sister, Dorothy Gamwell of Reno, NV; brother Robert (Anita) Parker, Jr of Carson City, NV; grandchildren Mikayla DeBusk Jones (Travis), Tanner and Jacob DeBusk; Kirsten DeBusk Toomey (Pierce), Courtney DeBusk, Caitlin, Amy, Michelle and Meghan Harrison; great grandson Hunter Reed and great granddaughters Reagan and Charlotte Toomey and numerous nieces and nephews.
