David Colfax Garre Jr.

David Colfax Garre, Jr. (Davey) On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, David (Davey) Colfax Garre, Jr., passed away peacefully at the age of 47. He battled end stage renal failure coupled with rheumatoid arthritis for several years. Davey was born on April 4, 1972 at Cape Cod Hospital and raised in Chatham. Davey attended Chatham Public School. He also attend The Pomfret School in Connecticut. Davey attended Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. His most proud educational achievement was his time spent completing a NOLS course in South America. Davey loved to be out in the boat, on the beach and surrounded by friends. He loved to travel, cook and enjoyed a lively dinner party. By trade, Davey was a very talented general contractor and owned his own business, Colfax Custom Construction. His clients were always pleased with his hard work and dedication to detail that made their home unique and beautiful. Davey was predeceased by his parents Dr. David Garre of Chatham and Dr. Patricia Pierce Garre of Chatham. Davey is survived by his sister Heather Garre Day (Iain Day), his sister Lindsay Garre Bierwirth (Fred Bierwirth) and his two nieces who he loved with his whole heart, Jane and Harriet Bierwirth. Church service was held on Wednesday, June 5th at 4 pm at St Christopher’s Church, Chatham, MA. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to St. Christopher’s Church in Davey’s name.
