Obituary of Margaret June Crum
Margaret June Ricketts Crum passed away peacefully on April 23 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born in Sullivan, West Virginia on September 25, 1937. She graduated from Stoco High School in 1955. Up until 2018, she made her home in Waynesboro, Virginia, where she and her husband Billy moved in 1964. Margaret is remembered with love by her husband of 62 years, Billy, her children Debbie Baylor (Mark), Julie Vendeiro (Mike), David Crum (Susan), and Michael Crum (Paula), grandchildren Lisa, Kathie, Scott, Kevin, Jessica, Allison, Esme, Isabel and Alexander, great grandchildren Abigail, Nicole, and David, sisters Nancy Cassity, Katie Thompson, and Jody Roebuck, brother Tommy Ricketts, and a cousin who was like a sister Becky Billups. She was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Mildred Ricketts. Margaret was an avid golfer and won the Waynesboro Country Club women’s club championship numerous times. She loved to tell the story of the year she won the women’s championship and her son David won the men’s championship. She was very active in her community, serving as a volunteer and fundraiser for numerous nonprofit organizations. Her fun-loving nature, unbounded kindness, and authenticity will be missed by all who knew her. There will be a Day of Remembrance for the family at the Trinity Woodmore Chapel at Christ United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 22nd at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
