Mary Campbell Barclay

Mary Campbell Barclay, age 91, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday May 27, 2019. She was born in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late C. L. & Cleo Reed Campbell and lived most of her life in Benton, Tennessee. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. She was the loving wife of 64 years to the late Jess Barclay who preceded her in death December 27, 2012. Her sister, Lib Painter also preceded her in death. Her hobbies included sewing and needle pointing. Mrs. Barclay was a member of Ridgedale Baptist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Survivors include her two sons, Jim (Cathy) Barclay of Chattanooga and Reed (Cindy) Barclay of Charlotte, NC; four grandsons, Andy, Mike, Josh, and Matthew Barclay; two great-grandchildren, Libby and Dalton Barclay; sister, Jane Bradford; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the East Brainerd Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Barclay officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Friendship Sunday School Class. Interment will be at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
