Marie Shirley Lorraine Troll

Marie, age 82, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 6th, 2019 in Chilliwack, BC with the love of her life by her bedside. Marie was born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia and as a young girl moved from Glace Bay, Nova Scotia to Vancouver, BC. There she met Gordie and they were married February 2nd, 1957. Marie and Gordie lovingly raised their two children, Cathy and Cliff together. As their family grew, they continued to show them what’s most important in life by living their beautiful example of love each and every day. Marie was known as Marie or Honey by her husband of 62 years, to her children as Mom, to her grandchildren as Gran or Granny and to her great grandchildren as Gigi. Marie loved and adored her family and loved spending time with them. She was always full of energy, her laugh was infectious and she always had a smile on her face that would light up a room. She was a loving, kind and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was always thinking of others first and always there to listen, support and advise. Anyone who entered her home was blessed by her warm embrace. Mom made the world a better place, but now Heaven has a new angel. Marie’s faith in the Lord was very strong. She always said that the love and strength of the Lord gave her the strength to get through anything in life. She believed in the power of prayer and it was important to her to attend Mass regularly. A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 25th 2019 at St. Mary’s Parish, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack, BC. Our family is so very thankful to everyone for your love, kindness, support and prayers through this difficult time. We are also incredibly grateful to the nurses and doctors of Chilliwack Hospital who cared for Mom. Your compassion and commitment to your work gave us great peace in knowing Mom was well cared for. Memorial donations may be made in Marie’s name to BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC or St. Mary’s Parish in Chilliwack.
