Mary Derksen

Mary Derksen July 15, 1926 - October 11, 2018 Mary Derksen passed away into her Lord’s presence on October 11 at Cheam Village, Agassiz, BC after several years of declining health. She is survived by sister Sara Hicks, and brothers Ed Klassen, Hank (Marjorie) Klassen, Jack (Fran) Klassen, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by Jake Derksen in April 2010 - her husband and “sweetie” of almost 60 years; parents George and Marie Klassen, sister Rita Neufeld, and brother-in-law Abe Neufeld, sister Ann and brother-in-law John Peters, brother John Klassen and sister-inlaw Nettie Klassen, brother-in-law Curtis Hicks, and sister-in-law Marlene Klassen. Mary was a lover of needlework and cooking as well as being a teacher of Ceramics. She and Jake enjoyed family reunions, traveling, and participating in church activities. For some years she also helped in children’s ministries at Chilliwack Alliance Church. Special thanks to all the Doctors, nurses, caregivers at Cheam Village for their special care over almost eight years. Memorial Service to be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Ave, Young Road, Chilliwack on Friday October 26 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Matt Mordaunt officiating.
