Verna is survived by her son’s Michael Huhn and wife Susan of Vancouver, BC, Steven Huhn of Langley, BC, her two stepson’s Christopher Huhn and his partner Anita Boucher of Strathmore AB, Anthony Huhn and wife Christine of Dawson Creek, BC, her Sister Anna Peckinpaugh of Langley, BC, her Grand daughters Sasha (Brian) Nogueira of Grand Prairie, AB, Amanda Huhn of Vancouver, BC, Her grandsons Jason (Natalie) Huhn of Kelowna, BC, Cole Huhn of Burnaby, BC, Jaron and Evan Huhn of Calgary, AB, Her great grandchildren, Denten, Raeanne, Tayleigh from Kelowna, BC and twins Seth and Max from Grand Prairie, AB. With the exception of living in Kitimat, Vancouver and Vancouver Island for short periods of time, Verna lived the majority of her life in Chilliwack. Verna held a number of jobs throughout her life, one of which was the Vancouver Sun where she met her husband Carl Huhn. Ultimately, she retired working for the Federal Government at Elbow Lake Correctional institute in Agassiz, BC. Verna was a member of the Chilliwack Legion and always talked about the amazing people she got to know through that organization and the support she received at times she needed help. Verna was pretty independent right up until her passing and although she lived her final days at the Auburn facility for independent living, she still liked to drive, shop and cook for herself even though all the meals were provided. Verna had a special place in her heart for Chilliwack, it’s history and the family roots that she belonged to. She loved to read her daily paper, do her crosswords and stay current with social media. Verna will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.
