Obituary of Naomi Jane Bunch
Naomi “Jane” Bunch, 74, died Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. A native of Connersville, Jane was born September 11, 1944 to Howard and Thelma Stephens Revalee. She graduated from Connersville High School in 1963 and was married to Charles D. Bunch on October 21, 1967 at the Park Place Church of God. Jane was employed at the former Fayette Memorial Hospital from 1962 to 1974, beginning in the dietary department, then later as a nurse’s aide in the surgery department. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Senior Center calling bingo and liked to play bingo at the American Legion. Numerous champion and reserve champion ribbons were awarded to Jane at the Fayette County Free Fair for her sewing and embroidering skills on tablecloths and pillowcases. Jane and Charlie went all out at Christmas buying gifts for everyone in the family. She was a member of the Grand Avenue United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post #1. Jane is survived by her brother and sister: Everett Stanton and Brenda Sue Gibbs, both of Connersville; special friends: Sharon Brant of Shelbyville and Brenda Sweney of Connersville; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, including Johnny Lakes of Connersville. In addition to her parents, Jane is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Charles D. Bunch who died May 11, 2010; sister: Helen Inone; and her loyal canine companion, Bessie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 2, 2019 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery, section A. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
