Ernest Cornett

CORNETT, Ernest – Surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center on Tuesday July 3, 2018. He was 87. He leaves his loving wife of almost 20 years, Jean (Sullivan) Cornett. Cherished father of Denis Cornett, Paul Cornett (Melanie), Diane Cornett, Pauline Cornett and Jeannine Alguire. Loving grandfather of Angela, Sophie, Natasha, Maria and Terry and great-grandfather of William, Christopher and Jorian. Survived by 3 siblings, Albert Cornett (Dorothy), James Cornett (Lianne) and Theresa Newcomb (Terry). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand newphews. Predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Maria (Alfonso) Cornett, one daughter, Suzanne Cornett, one granddaughter Natalie, 2 brothers, Emile, Art (late Joan) and 2 sisters, Julie Lalonde (late Hilliard) and Stella Stewart. Friends and family will be received at the M. John Sullivan Funeral Home, 341 Pitt Street (across from city hall) Cornwall on Monday from 3-5 pm and 7 – 9pm and on Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 am. Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 11am. Rite of Committal, St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery to follow. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations (by cheque) to the Charity of Choice would be appreciated by the family.
